A first of its kind kayak rental opened on the Mississippi River, upstream of the Quad Cities. The “Mississippi River Paddle Share” officially opened last week in Minneapolis.
According to their website, paddleshare.org, experienced paddlers can make a reservation and pick up their kayak at a specific pick-up station. Then paddle 1.7 or 3.9 miles downriver to a return station. The cost starts at $30.
Is this something we need around the Quad Cities? Let me know on my Facebook page. You know, I’m a kayaker and am fully supportive of the idea! Interested to hear what you think.
