Rock Island Police Chief Scott Harris is retiring and an interim chief has been named.
Chief Harris’ last day on the job is November 2, 2012.
City officials announced Wednesday, October 24 that Lt. Jason Foy will be the city’s interim police chief.
Foy has been with the Rock Island Police Department for 22 years. He became a lieutenant in June 2009.
“He has worked his way up through the ranks, serving in most capacities at the department,” said City Manager Thomas Thomas.
Foy’s first day as interim chief is November 5.
