A new Circuit Clerk was sworn in to Rock Island County.
Tammy Weikert was sworn in Friday, July 31, 2015 at 7:45 a.m. Her successor, Lisa L. Bierman, retired Thursday.
Weikert has been with the Clerk of the Circuit Court's office for more than 17 years, serving as the Systems Manager for more than 13 years, according to a statement from the office. The clerk's office is responsible for maintaining all the official court records, including court proceedings and fines, fees, and costs as well as keeping record of child support payments made.
She helped initiate the first e-filing program within the office.
"I had the opportunity to implement more of those and improve the technological programs we have in the office," Weikert said.
Weikert's appointment into the position will last through November of 2016.
