Police said they charged Circuit Court Judge Joseph Hettel with driving under the influence, improper lane use, failure to reduce speed to avoid and accident and using a handheld communication device while driving according to the Illinois Valley NewsTribune.
No injuries were reported when Hettel allegedly crashed his vehicle into a parked car at about 10:45 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014 in the 1800 block of LaSalle Street in Ottawa.
