Red Cross distributes cleaning supplies

To help provide relief to residents affected by the flooding, the American Red Cross is distributing clean up supplies.

On Saturday and Sunday, April 27 and 28, the Red Cross are at the Davenport Fire Station with supplies residents may need. The organization is at the location from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

On Sunday, April 28 the Red Cross will be handing out supplies in Henry County at the Colona and Atkinson Fire Stations and at the American Red Cross of the Quad City Area in Moline. They will be there from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

According to a spokesperson from the Red Cross, more than 48,000 meals and snacks have been handed out across the Midwest and over 11,000 relief items. In the Quad Cities the Red Cross has opened up two shelters for people who were evacuated.

The Red Cross has had more than 400 volunteers helping out across the Midwest, and in the Quad Cities those volunteers have met with individuals impacted by the floods, making damage assessments, and will continue to provide help to those in need.
