The owner of a barn was injured trying to remove equipment from the building after it caught fire.
Clinton County Emergency management officials said the fire was reported at about noon Thursday, June 14, 2012 in the 2400 block of 105th Avenue in Wheatland, Iowa.
By the time firefighters arrived, the building had already burned to the ground.
The property owner was reportedly hurt trying to get equipment out of the burning barn. That person was taken to a DeWitt hospital by ambulance and later airlifted to a hospital in Iowa City.
The cause of the fire was not yet known.
