YORK, Pa. – Despite working a long work shift, one dad wasn’t going to miss spending a minute with his sick son.
The Palmers’ young son AJ, short for Andre Jesse, was being treated at York Hospital Pediatrics in Pennsylvania after suffering “an asthma attack I just couldn’t break,” his mother, Amy Palmer, said.
His father Andre was exhausted but wouldn’t leave his son’s side, wife Amy wrote on Facebook.
“I thought to myself after working all night he didn’t have to come to the hospital,” said Amy. “He could have went home to sleep.”
Palmer said she was asleep in a chair when her husband came in. When she woke up, she spotted him under the crib and took a picture.
Her caption reads:
This is a picture of a hard working man dedicated to his family!! After working all night third shift, he’s right here with his son who is in the hospital. He’s so tired but he’s here!! Father of the year award goes to Andre Palmer!!! I love you more than words baby.
As for AJ, Palmer says he is doing much better and all three are back home now, sleeping comfortably in their own beds.
