Mike Pence is taking the convention stage tonight as Trump's running mate, but new information is out, suggesting Pence was not Trump's first choice.
The New York Times is reporting that Donald Trump Jr. offered Ohio Governor and former presidential candidate John Kasich the opportunity to be "the most powerful Vice President in history." The younger Trump said Kasich would be in charge of both domestic and foreign policy.
The conversation allegedly happened in May, but the Trump campaign denies it altogether.
As for Kasich, he hasn't endorsed Trump and seemingly isn't planning to.
Kasich has made it clear he will not be attending this year's convention, even though it's in his home state.
