The first hour of parking at Quad City International Airport will now cost you a dollar.
In a meeting Tuesday, May 15, 2012, the rock Island County Metropolitan Airport Authority decided to eliminate free one-hour parking at the airport.
Aviation Director Bruce Carter said the change is expected to generate an additional $90,000 per year for the airport.
Other parking rates at the airport will stay the same, and you can still use the cell phone lot for free.
The new rate for the first hour of parking starts July 1, 2012.
