One year ago, 7-year-old Nathan Woessner was on vacation at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore when he fell into a sinkhole on Mount Baldy. He was buried under 11 feet of sand for more than three hours.
His survival has been called a miracle, but today, he's just as active as any other 7-year-old boy.
A smile on his face as he swings, the simplest of moments with their son now have more meaning for Faith and Greg Woessner.
"It's really nice. We take pleasure in watching him do every day, normal activities," said Faith Woessner.
"Definitely stand back and just watch, just be that much more thankful and grateful," said Greg Woessner.

Buried for more than three hours, Nathan was found approximately 11 feet deep. A coroner was on scene, but then Nathan started bleeding and showing his first signs of life.
"We have an amazing God. He brought our son back to us and we've treasured him immensely," said Faith Woessner.
Nathan had procedures done to remove the sand from his eyes and lungs, but after just two weeks in the hospital, he went home.
"It has gone quite quick. It definitely doesn't feel like a year yet, but glad for the outcome," said Greg Woessner.
One year later,
"Nathan's doing good. He's enjoying his summer vacation, enjoying just hanging out with his family," said Faith, "He just finished first grade, doing really good in school."
A scar on his head will always serve as a reminder of that day. But from that day, a lesson that will stay with this family forever.
"Take pleasure in the small things in life and don't sweat the small stuff as much."
