About 125 employees at two John Deere facilities in Iowa will be placed on indefinite layoff.
The layoffs affect about 75 employees at Deere's construction and forestry division factory in Dubuque, and will be effective April 15.
About 50 workers at their agriculture and turf division factory in Ankeny will also be laid off as of April 15.
"Deere said the company continues to balance the size of its manufacturing workforce with market demand for products at individual factories," said a statement from the company.
The company confirmed the workers were notified of the layoffs Thursday, March 10, 2016.
