A new MetroLink bus stop is now officially up and running at the SouthPark Mall, after a ribbon cutting Monday morning.
The new "Mega" stop is 3,400 square feet and can accommodate four buses at a time.
The stop features real-time signage, lighting, landscaping and seating.
The entire project cost over $1 million and was paid for by Federal Transit Administration funds as well as proceeds from the sale of the former transit garage in Rock Island.
"This stop is great because it connects right up to the front door here at SouthPark Mall and is a nice amenity for passengers," said Jennifer Garrity, Manager of Administration at MetroLink.
