The Quad Cities had prepared for the Mississippi River to rise above its banks during the week of March 27.
On Monday, March 28, the river was at 15.6 feet and was expected to crest at that level. The river was forecast to fall below its 15-foot flood stage by Thursday, March 31.
Davenport and Rock Island had prepared for flooding, and according to Davenport Today, the City of Davenport was not planning to remove flood measures until early April.
Athough the crest would not get as high as anticipated, a few roads along the river were closed because of high waters. South Concord from River Drive to Utah Avenue was closed in Davenport until the river falls below 13.5 feet. River drive in Moline near Western Illinois University was closed as well.
