Police and family members hoped someone could help them find an 81-year-old Muscatine man, who did not return home after he went to a doctor’s appointment in East Moline.

William Morgan, who suffers from dementia and Alzheimer’s, was last seen driving his red 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan, with Iowa license plate 550PPR, from Muscatine to a doctor’s office in East Moline Thursday, September 25, 2014.

Morgan was last seen at Ridgewood Center, in the 600 block of Avenue of the Cities in East Moline, at about noon that day.  He was expected to return home by about 2:30 p.m. but never arrived there.

When he was still missing that evening, his family reported his disappearance to police.

A spokesperson from the East Moline Police Department said a citizen reported seeing Morgan near Stoney Creek Inn at about 1:20 p.m. Thursday, he was “asking for directions, but seemed confused.” Police said Morgan was possibly last seen near Scott County Park.

“William has no cell phone or other technology which would assist in locating him,” said a statement from Crime Stoppers of the Quad Cities.

William Morgan is 81 years old, he is 5-feet 6-inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.  Morgan has gray hair and is balding, and he walks with a noticeable limp.

Anyone with information about William Morgan was asked to call Crime Stoppers of the Quad Cities at 309-762-9500 or East Moline Police at 309-752-1550.
