A Michigan toddler was missing for almost an entire day when she was finally found safe in the woods.
Two-year-old Brooklyn Lynn Lilly was playing outside at her eastern Michigan home when she wandered off, reported ABC News.
Nobody saw her walk off and her parents thought she might have been abducted.
“We worried maybe somebody came and grabbed her,” said family friend Patrick McDonald.
A search of the area began with troopers, deputies, and firefighters. They swept the area on foot, on ATVs and in the air but storms made their search difficult.
According to the report, Jax a K-9, led Trooper Denis McGucken directly to the child who was on the ground.
“She had lifted her head up off the ground and looked back towards me and my dog and began smiling,” said McGuckin.
The assistant fire chief for the Tawas City Fire Department, Jeffery Seyfried shared a sweet moment when he snapped a photo of Brooklyn.
“I asked her, I said “Brooklyn, can I take your picture?” She looked up and gave me this great big smile and I said, “Thank you.” And she says, “I love the woods.””
