One man was severely burned in a trailer fire that left three people dead in Montrose, Iowa.

One man was severely burned in a trailer fire that left three people dead in Montrose, Iowa.

The fire was reported in the 2700 block of 252nd Avenue just after 1 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2016. The trailer was engulfed in fire when firefighters arrived.

The bodies of three people were found inside the burned home. Their identities were withheld pending notification of their family, and completion of autopsies.

Jacob Glen Russell, 33, of Keokuk, Iowa, suffered severe burns and cuts; he was taken to a hospital in Fort Madison and later airlifted to a hospital in Iowa City.

The cause of the fire had not yet been determined.
