The Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center in Rock Island, Illinois is seeing a familiar face take over the position of executive director.
Former MLK Center executive director, Jerry Jones was set to return to the position; the announcement came Thursday, March 10, 2016. Jones served as executive director for roughly a decade.
Jones is a 1991 Augustana College graduate. Throughout his career he has worked at Family Resources, Catholic Social Services, and the Robert Young Center for Community Mental Health. He originally came to the MLK Center in 1998 and coordinated after-school programs for older youth.
In 2012 Jones became the Chief Operating Officer of the United Way of the Quad Cities.
Jones was set to begin his position at the MLK Center on April 4, 2016.
