An Iowa mother was jailed and faced a felony charge after an argument with her teenage daughter over a cell phone.
Jail records show 34-year-old Tina Mallet was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 3:30 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2013.
The charge reportedly stems from allegations that Mallett threw a cell phone at her 13-year-old daughter during an argument the pair had on December 11.
The Iowa Press-Citizen reports a police complaint said Mallett had taken the phone from her daughter, and then became angry when the teen wouldn’t tell her the security code to access the phone. Mallett then allegedly threw the phone from about four feet away. The daughter reportedly suffered a cut to her head when the phone struck her.
Jail and court records show Mallett was held in lieu of $5,000 cash bond after she was charged with one felony count of child endangerment. She was still in jail as of Monday afternoon, December 23.
