A vehicle carrying Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner, and another vehicle in his motorcade, were hit when another vehicle spun out during a wreck in Chicago.

The motorcade was stopped at a red light at Michigan Avenue and East Randolph Street when two vehicles collided in the intersection in front of the motorcade according to a statement from Illinois State Police Director Hiram Grau.

"One of the vehicles spun out of control after the crash and slid across the intersection, striking the vehicle Governor Rauner was riding in," the statement said.  The right-front bumper and fender of the governor's vehicle was damaged, and a second vehicle was also struck.

The governor and state police officers assigned to his security detail were not hurt.   Three people involved in the initial crash were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, the statement said.
