Conservation Police and members of the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office cut down 260 illegally-grown marijuana plants at Big Bend State Fish and Wildlife Area near Prophetstown, the statement said.
The plants were estimated to be worth a quarter-of-a-million dollars.
Police did not say who was suspected of growing the plants.
