Large hail was part of damaging storms that struck just north of Mechanicsville, Iowa.
Linn and Cedar counties were hard hit by afternoon storms that hit Monday, June 22, 2015.
Trained spotters reported hail between a half-inch to 1.5 inches in diameter near Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Others reported hail nearly three inches in diameter about a mile north of Mechanicsville. Structure and vehicle damage – including a broken windshield – were reported as a result of the hail.
Brief, heavy rain also accompanied the storms.
