When Bettendorf's David Nelson took his girlfriend on a cruise to the Bahamas over Valentine's Day weekend, she thought something might be up.

"It was a pretty special trip, so she might have had a feeling," Nelson told News 8.

On board the cruise was the San Francisco-based band Train.  Nelson had previously helped the band out by programming a video game for them called "50 Ways to Survive," which was based on their song "50 Ways to Say Goodbye."

In the midst of their performance of the hit song "Marry Me," lead singer Patrick Monahan suddenly stopped singing and walked down to where David and Chelsea were sitting.

"This has to do with my friend, David," Monahan told the crowd, "and I wanted you to meet him. Why do I want everybody to meet you, buddy?"

"Well, I have something very important to ask my girlfriend, Chelsea," David said as he took the mic. "The first time we met, I could tell you were the sweetest girl in the world. I love you so much and you mean so much to me. And now there's only one thing left to do."

"Chelsea, will you marry me?" he asked.

She quickly nodded, "Yes!" much to the delight of everyone around as cheers and applause filled the concert venue.
Congrats!
