Fire that did heavy damage to a house also closed a stretch of 30th Street in Rock Island, Illinois.
The fire was reported around 10:30 a.m. at a home at 720 30th Street. Firefighters arrived to find flames on the back side of the home.
Emergency crews and vehicles closed a two-block stretch of 30th Street near 7th Avenue.
Initial reports indicated no one was in the house at the time of the fire.
A statement from the American Red Cross said a team of their volunteers were offering assistance to two adults and six children who live in the home.
There was no indication yet what caused the fire or how much damage was done to the home and its contents.
About an hour after it was reported, firefighters were still extinguishing hot spots at the fire scene.
