Updated: Police said the driver of a car died when the vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and was struck by a semi.
The crash was reported Thursday, April 18, 2013 just before 3 p.m. on Highway 30 about two miles west of Grand Mound, Iowa.
A statement from the Iowa State Patrol said a westbound car “crossed into the eastbound lane in front of a semi.”
The driver of the car, 31-year-old Austin Blount, was killed in the crash. There was no one else in the car.
Police said the 37-year-old man driving was the only person in the semi. They did not yet provide information about whether he was hurt.
