A Davenport man faces charges after allegedly placing his cellphone under the door of a tanning room to video record a woman undressing, according to court records.

A report by the QC Times said that 28-year-old Justin Scott Coffey was charged with invasion of privacy/nudity, a serious misdemeanor.

The QC Times reported that when he tried to record the woman, she screamed which alerted a manager at the salon. According to the arrest affidavit, a manager saw Coffey walking away from the area where the woman screamed. Coffey then went back to his assigned tanning room, stopped the session and started to leave, according to the report.

The woman claimed she saw a white cellphone, said the QC Times. Coffey was asked to show his phone, but said it was in his truck. After leaving the salon, it was later discovered that he had a white cover on his cellphone, according to the affidavit.

The reported incident happened in early May and Coffey made his first appearance Tuesday, June 4, 2013 in Scott County District Court.
