DAVENPORT, Iowa - After months of planning the Davenport Fire Department's boat house is being built on the river front.
Crews are building the framework during the week of July 12th, 2016 and will then float it down to it's final location.
Davenport Fire Chief Lynn Washburn said this boat house could save first responders valuable time.
"With the festivals that go on as we continue through the summer there's a lot of boats out there and a lot of opportunities so we want to be able to have that boat in the water quickly if it's needed," said Washburn.
Washburn said the boat house should be fully done by the week of July 19th, 2016.
