Various lanes of River Drive were blocked by wrecked vehicles just east of the Village of East Davenport.
Some roads were slick after overnight snow combined with below-zero temperatures the morning of Tuesday, March 25, 2014.
Davenport Police said they worked a “multiple vehicle” crash, involving injuries, that all began around 8 a.m. that day on E. River Drive at McClellan Blvd. Vehicles collided and smashed into the wall along River Drive.
The location is just east of Lindsay Park, between the Village and I-74.
Motorists were urged to use an alternate route and avoid River Drive between Mound Street and the Bettendorf border during their morning commute.
River Drive was closed to all traffic there for most of the morning. Westbound lanes were expected to reopen at about 11 a.m.
