A Clinton, Iowa worker died after falling from a water tower.
On Thursday, August 1, 2013, while working on a renovation project on a water tower in Mount Vernon, 29-year-old Winfred Davis fell from the structure, according to a report by KCRG.
The Mount Vernon Police Chief said Davis fell from the top of the tower and died from his injuries.
The Police Chief said the 29-year-old worked for Arndt Enterprises, Inc., a company out of DeWitt, Iowa. Employees had been working on the on-going renovation project all summer and Davis had been hired to help paint the tower.
It is unknown how or why Davis fell, but the police chief said that he was wearing a harness, reported KCRG.
According to KCRG, city officials said Thursday was one of the last days of the water tower project.
Police say Occupational Safety and Health Administration is expected to investigate the incident.
