Fire coming from an old school bus in Clinton, Iowa began to catch a nearby vehicle on fire before firefighters arrived.
When firefighters got to the scene in the 200 block of 18th Place after 5 p.m., they saw an old school bus parked in the yard that was on fire, according to a statement from the City of Clinton. The incident happened Friday, March 20, 2015.
According to the statement, the fire had started to spread to another vehicle nearby and firefighters also noticed that smoke was coming from a small shed in the area.
It took firefighters about 15 minutes to get the fire under control. Emergency crews remained on scene for about an hour afterward.
There were no reported injuries in the situation.
The damage was approximately $5,000, and the owner did have insurance, according to the city’s statement.
It was not clear what started the fire.
