A body was found in the Mississippi River near Buffalo, Iowa.
Initial reports indicated the body was on a barge in the middle of the river when it was reported just after 7 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2015.
A Davenport, Iowa Crime Scene investigator's vehicle, and a vehicle from the Scott County Sheriff's Department, were among those at the scene.
Police remained on the scene, and the body was reportedly still on the barge, just before 9:30 p.m.
Police later confirmed they were notified of a body in the river.
Overnight the Quad Cities Missing Persons Network said the body was that of John LaBarre, according to the family.
As of Monday morning, June 15, police had not yet confirmed the identity.
"At this time no official identification has been made," said a statement from Davenport Police Lt. Greg Behning.
