Bettendorf city leaders have unveiled their new plans for a revitalized downtown.
As part of the Grant and State street realignments as well as the I-74 bridge construction, downtown Bettendorf will be getting a new look.
City leaders and project designers have released some mock ups of what the downtown area may look in the future. It will be broken up into six different districts, each with its own characteristic.
In the plan, there is a west bridge district, a residential district, a promenade, downtown and riverfront district as well as an industrial district and an urban park.
The plan is designed to utilize as much space as possible, make the downtown walker friendly and attract more businesses and residents.
An open house was scheduled at Bettendorf City Hall in the Council Chambers from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. A second open house was planned for Tuesday, February 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
