Update at 4:46 p.m. — A spokesperson from MidAmerican Energy said there were still 654 customers in the Iowa Quad Cities without power. Most of those customers were expected to be restored by midnight. In areas of extensive damage restoration may not be complete until Saturday morning.

Update at 1:23 p.m. — About 1,000 people were still without power. Bettendorf and Davenport were hit the hardest, with more than 500 residents still in the dark.
It had been estimated that most of the customers without power would be restored by noon. Remaining customers were expected to have the lights back on by Friday evening, MidAmerican said.
Update at 8:30 a.m. — In the last hour about 400 customers have had their power restored.
Update at 7:30 a.m. — Another thousand customers have been restored, leaving about 2,750 Quad Citians without power this morning.
Mercer County residents have been restored. The estimated time power will be back on remains at noon for Rock Island County and Scott County residents.
Update at 6:34 a.m. — Nearly 3,500 Quad Citians remain without power this morning. That’s 58 in the Illinois Quad Cities and 3,374 in the Iowa Quad Cities.
Many of those outages are surrounding Interstate 74.
Noon continues to be the estimated time of restoration.
Update at 5:37 a.m. — Shortly after 5:30 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2016 there were still more than 4,400 MidAmerican customers without power in the Quad Cities area.
The outages began with late-night storms Thursday that produced lots of rain and lightning.
Most of the outages were in the Iowa Quad Cities, with just over 100 on the Illinois side.
Just under 3,000 Bettendorf residents were in the dark Friday morning, and just over 1,000 in Davenport. Scott County was also seeing about 275 customers without power.
The company’s website states that damage in Mercer County, Rock Island County and Scott County “includes down power lines and tree damage… MidAmerican estimates to have power restored to the majority of customers by noon.”
Original Report — About 21,000 MidAmerican customers are without power tonight as of 11:25 p.m. following huge storms that produced a lot of lightning.
About 16,000 of those customers are on the Iowa side with 4,700 on the Illinois side.
Tornado warnings were issued by the National Weather Service for Scott and Rock Island counties. As of tonight, no word of an actual touchdown was reported.
Severe thunderstorm warnings were also issued for Muscatine and Scott counties in Iowa, and Rock Island and Mercer counties in Illinois, but they expired at 11 p.m.
