Agencies and organizations seeking funding from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for the upcoming fiscal year must attend a digital workshop with the City of Davenport on Nov. 28 from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

This year, the city received $1.6 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to distribute to local organizations to help provide housing and expand economic opportunities for those earning low to moderate incomes.

The workshop will cover federal regulations and fiscal, programmatic and eligibility requirements. General information on CDBG funding can be found on the city's website.

Any non-profit organization with 501(c)3 status in Davenport for at least a year offering eligible programs or services can apply for CBDG funding. If an organization is located outside the Quad Cities, it may apply if it provides a unique service for the whole Quad Cities area and has a physical location in Davenport.

To register for the workshop, email Davenport's Department of Community and Economic Development at ced.info@davenportiowa.com. Registration is due by noon on Monday, Nov. 27.
