This is not to be confused with National Pizza With Everything Except Anchovies Day, which will be observed Saturday, November 12. 2016. Or National Cheese Pizza Day, on September 5.
More than 3 billion pizzas are sold in the U.S. every year – and that doesn’t include the one billion frozen pizzas also sold annually, according to the National Day Calendar website. Americans eat about 23 pounds of pizza per person every year.

Planet Fitness centers offer free pizza to their members on the first Monday of every month, “as a membership appreciation gesture and reminder that it’s okay to treat yourself in moderation every once in awhile,” according to their official comments on #NationalPizzaDay.
