DAVENPORT, Iowa — A Davenport woman has been arrested after police say she stabbed a man several times.
Around 7:45 a.m. on Monday, June 3, police say 31-year-old Kyana G. Grimes used a knife to stab a man several times at an apartment located on Appomattox Road. Arrest affidavits say the man tried to flee but Grimes allegedly "pulled him back in to continue assaulting him." He was transported to a local hospital with stab wounds to his legs, back and head. As of Tuesday afternoon, his condition is unknown.
Grimes faces six charges in connection to the stabbing:
- Attempted murder (class B felony)
- Assault while participating in a felony causing serious injury (class C felony)
- Willful injury causing serious injury (class C felony)
- Going armed with intent (class D felony)
- Assault with intent to inflict serious injury (aggravated misdemeanor)
- Domestic abuse assault with intent to inflict serious injury first offense (aggravated misdemeanor)
Court filings say the two were in a relationship for eight years and lived together at the time of the assault. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 14 at 10 a.m. at the Scott County Courthouse.
