DAVENPORT, Iowa — Davenport's The Group OB-GYN is set to expand its facility with an additional 7,300 square feet of space.
Clinic officials said that since their last expansion in 2014, patient visits have increased by 92%. The expanded facility will contain 13 new exam rooms, four new procedures rooms, two patient education rooms and a conference room. Officials with The Group said they will also begin offering mammography screenings in October 2024 and anticipates giving more than 3,000 screenings every year.
"It has always been a goal to offer on-site mammography, making our practice more of a one-stop shop for our patients," The Group Owner Dr. Briana Barclay said in a press release. "We recommend mammography screenings annually for women over 40, and for younger women based on a personal risk assessment. Having the ability to schedule patients for a mammogram at the same time as their annual exam will be more convenient for them. Our goal is to save more lives through early detection, and making the scheduling process as easy as possible may encourage more regular screenings."
Construction on the expansion began in late July and will take around 12 months to complete.
