City of Davenport looking for input from flood-prone property owners

The City says it will help them identify properties that would be eligible for various kinds of assistance.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — Davenport Public Works is asking for input from people who own property in the floodplain.

According to a Facebook post, the survey will help the City identify properties that could be eligible for federal grants that may be made available. The City says it's also working to develop a local assistance program and that answers from the survey will help in that endeavor.

The survey asks for interest in two things: type of assistance a flood-prone property owner would be interested in (i.e. cost share, technical assistance, buyout, loans); and type of flood risk reduction assistance (i.e. flood barriers, structure elevation, flood vents, other structural measures). Surveyees will also need to fill out personal information and provide a history of flooding at their property.

Those interested can fill out the survey here

Do you own a property located in the floodplain? If so, the City wants to hear from you. 👉https://bit.ly/davenportfa....
