DAVENPORT, Iowa — Davenport police have arrested a suspect in a homicide investigation stemming from an August death.
According to police officials, 35-year-old Dillon R. Adams was charged with first-degree murder on Wednesday, Nov. 20. Police allege that Adams assaulted 33-year-old Madeline Bakoylis, leading to her death.
A criminal complaint states Adams allegedly strangled and assaulted Bakoylis at a residence on the 200 block of South Elmwood Avenue with the intent to kill her during the night of Aug. 30 into the early morning hours of Aug. 31.
Around 10 a.m. on Aug. 31, Davenport police responded to a report of a possible overdose at the residence. Bakoylis was found dead at the scene. An autopsy released on Oct. 10 listed Bakoylis's death as a homicide.
Adams is being held without bond until he makes his initial court appearance.
