Davenport to host public meet-and-greet with new city administrator finalists

Information on each candidate will be released at the event.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — Davenport residents will have a chance to meet the candidates who are in the running to be their next city administrator.

The City of Davenport will host a meet-and-greet with the finalists at the Figge Art Museum from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9. The event will be held in the museum's grand lobby. Officials said the event will be an open house with light refreshments, and information on the candidates will be made available to attendees.

In addition to the reception, the finalists will go through an interview process and attend community tours from Sept. 9-10.

Interim City Administrator Mallory Merritt left the role on Friday, Aug. 16. Nicole Gleason, Davenport's public works director, then stepped into the interim position.

The job first became open when Corri Spiegel left the City in November 2023. In April, the City hired an executive recruitment firm to conduct a national search for the permanent position, a process that was estimated to take approximately six months.
