Police arrest Davenport teen in connection to homicide investigation

A 15-year-old faces first-degree murder and attempted murder charges after a fatal shooting on Aug. 29 that left a 20-year-old dead.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — A 15-year-old has been charged with murder in connection to a Davenport homicide on Aug. 29, police said Tuesday afternoon.

On Thursday, Aug. 29, police said they received a call at 9:07 p.m. of a shooting in the 7500 block of Northwest Boulevard. When first responders arrived they found three victims, a 27-year-old female, a 17-year-old male and a 20-year-old male. All three were transported to nearby hospitals for their injuries. The 20-year-old, who has since been identified as Kavon Campbell of Davenport, did not survive.

On Tuesday, Sept. 3, a Davenport teenager was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, intimidation with a dangerous weapon and willful injury causing serious injury in connection to the shooting. Because the suspect is a minor, police did not release their name. 

The incident remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time, according to police.
