Davenport City Council to vote on new city attorney

If hired, Samuel Huff IV would receive an annual salary of $195,000 and other benefits such as monthly car and businesses allowances.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — The Davenport City Council is expected to vote on hiring its next city attorney.

According to a meeting agenda, council members will vote on whether or not to hire Samuel Huff IV during a special meeting on Wednesday, July 31. Huff's hiring is the only voting item included on the agenda.

In an employment agreement included along with the agenda, city officials wrote that Huff would receive an annual salary of $195,000. In addition to the base pay, Huff would also receive a $250 a month car allowance and $150 a month as a business allowance.
