DAVENPORT, Iowa — Members of the Davenport City Council are now under a code of conduct.

At their meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 25, the city council voted to implement the new code. The code addresses issues such as conflicts of interest, how members are expected to behave during meetings and how violations to the code are dealt with. Ward Three Alderwoman Marion Meginnis said there wasn't previously a clear code for members and that the new measure was a step in the right direction.

"We had no process for managing our own behavior, and so that's why for me this is very important," Meginnis said.
