Crews respond to fire in downtown Moline

The Moline Fire Department responded to a downtown structure fire on Wednesday afternoon at 715 23rd St., finding flames coming out of the front windows.

The Moline Fire Department responded to a downtown structure fire on Wednesday afternoon at 715 23rd St. 

The fire was first reported by a passerby who saw smoke coming from the residence. Fire crews were on the scene within two minutes and discovered a small, two-story multi-family structure with fire coming out of the front windows. After attacking the fire, crews completed searches of all of the apartments and found no occupants remaining in the building. 

The fire was brought under control in around 15 minutes. No smoke detectors were found inside the structure, and no injuries were reported. 

The fire is currently under investigation by the Moline Fire Department Bureau of Investigations.
