CAMANCHE, Iowa — One person was life-flighted and another was injured after an early Thursday morning crash in Camanche, an Iowa State Patrol crash report shows.

It happened just before 5 a.m. at the roundabout connecting U.S. Highway 67 and 7th Avenue. According to ISP, a BMW was approaching the roundabout traveling northbound on Highway 67 and a Toyota Camry was in the roundabout heading towards the Camanche/7th Avenue exit.

Officials said both vehicles "collided in a broadside manner" causing the BMW to roll multiple times before coming to a stop north of the roundabout.

One of the drivers was not wearing their seatbelt and was life-flighted to University of Iowa hospitals. The second person was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Their identities have not been released pending family notification.

The crash remains under investigation. ISP said they were assisted by the Clinton County Sheriff's Office and Camanche Police Department.
