COLONA, Ill — Colona police are warning residents to keep their garages locked up to help prevent burglaries.
According to police, officers have responded to four garage burglaries since May 10. Here's where police said recent burglaries have been reported:
- Green River Street on Tuesday, June 18
- 800 block of 6th Street on Friday, June 14
- 500 Block of Greenview Avenue on Thursday, May 30
- East 5th Avenue on Friday, May 10
Police encouraged residents to use a keypad door lock or consider installing motion detectors or spotlights on the garage. The use of security cameras, such as a doorbell camera, is also recommended.
