CLINTON, Iowa — The City of Clinton dedicated an honorary street name to Officer Todd Stone, killed in the line of duty in 1993, at the corner of 17th Place and Camanche Avenue on Friday morning.
Stone died on January 27, 1993, while in a vehicle pursuit in the 1600 block of Camanche Avenue, also called Lincoln Highway. He had served the Clinton Police Department for five years and was survived by his wife and two young children.
The Clinton City Council approved the city's fifth honorary street name request at an August council meeting. A ribbon cutting was held Friday, Nov. 3, revealing the new street sign.
