CAMANCHE, Iowa — An early Friday morning Clinton County fire has deemed a Camanche warehouse a total loss and caused $1 million in damages.
According to a Camanche Fire Department news release, firefighters responded to Greystone Warehouse at 12:06 a.m. and found black smoke pouring out from inside the warehouse. The warehouse was full of plastic pallets at the time of the fire.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control in about two hours, and remained on scene for another three hours to investigate the incident and remove burning pallets from the warehouse. Officials were on the scene for a total of nine hours.
There were no injuries resulting from the fire.
The Camanche Police Department, Clinton Fire Department, Low Moor Fire Department, Iowa State Fire Marshal's Office and Mid-American Energy assisted the Camanche Fire Department.
