BURLINGTON, Iowa — One person was sent to the hospital Wednesday evening after a shooting in Burlington, according to police.
Around 6:30 p.m., officers with the Burlington Police Department responded to S. 10th Street for a shots fired call. Upon arrival, police say they encountered a male victim with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police say the injuries were not life-threatening.
Officers canvassed the area and found multiple shell casings on the street and sidewalk. According to the department, no arrests have been made but police say there is not an ongoing threat to the public. The incident remains under investigation.
