BURLINGTON, Iowa — Human remains found in Burlington earlier this month have been identified as a Burlington man who had been missing since July 2020.
According to the Burlington Police Department, the human remains found in the 900 block of South Main Street on Thursday, March 7, have been identified as those of 54-year-old Burlington resident Troy Daugherty.
Daugherty had been reported as a missing person to Burlington police on July 14, 2020. At the time of his disappearance, Daugherty was last seen in the 900 block of South 7th Street.
The cause of Daugherty's death is being investigated by Burlington police, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations and the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner.
