PERU, Ill. — A Tiskilwa couple has died after a single-vehicle crash in Peru, Illinois on Sunday, Aug. 11.
According to the LaSalle County Sheriff's Office, 67-year-old Ronald W. Hansen was driving eastbound on I-80 near mile marker 73 when the vehicle left the road and struck an overpass in Peru.
Hansen's wife, 66-year-old Theresa A. Hansen, was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Autopsies were conducted on Monday with preliminary results pending.
This incident is under further investigation by the LaSalle County Coroner’s Office, Illinois State Police, and Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit.
